I could have read pages and pages about those inventions alone.Levi Stahlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11094919454842047688noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6959297.post-73855205265114092582007-11-06T17:04:00.000-05:002007-11-06T17:04:00.000-05:00That's certainly the most interesting part of that...That's certainly the most interesting part of that article--but it's also the part where I thought, "oh, I'd like to know more about these particulars than the less specific misgivings that he spends much of the article discussing." Grafton is so good at making those particulars sound fascinating! I don't know, I'm more interested to hear about the new (or old) ways one approached a problem than a generalized worry. (Or he could have spent more time on the privatization of these digitization services and the expense for libraries to keep updating the software...) I remember that you give out some great assignments for students to become more familiar with the possibilities--and the constraints--of digital scans of eighteenth-century texts.Alicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01307958850120460298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6959297.post-92185613119214623302007-11-06T08:13:00.000-05:002007-11-06T08:13:00.000-05:00Wonder whether the Ark of Studies influenced Vanne...Wonder whether the Ark of Studies influenced Vannevar Bush....Brent Bucknerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14754659334435107746noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6959297.post-83272503866799552062007-11-05T21:52:00.000-05:002007-11-05T21:52:00.000-05:00That's funny: I just now finished writing a post a...That's funny: I just now finished writing a post at my blog that was in part prompted by that passage.
