It was the first time I'd ever seen a Shakespeare in the Park performance, and I loved how they took advantage of the trees for the Birnam Wood ending. A cold front moved through the city during the performance, so the weather was absolutely perfect--I got goosebumps at all the right moments.<BR/><BR/>Several years ago, I saw Strauss' <I>Elektra</I> at the Santa Fe Opera, where the back of the stage and the wings are open (they just added a roof several years ago after many years of open-air performances). Opera season is also thunderstorm season in New Mexico, and we could see an electrical storm in the distance behind the onstage action.
