Don't take this the wrong way, but I personally am quite inspired that you have also taken a serious interest in Helen's rantings and ravings. I know nothing, but I know enough that the fact that you look after her in a way --- with your comments and such --- means a great deal, and that, please-please, you should continue. She needs our love and respect. And we must continue to give it freely.
My two most recent books are THE EXPLOSIONIST (HarperTeen), the story of a 15-year-old girl growing up in an alternate version of 1930s Edinburgh, one where the legacy of Napoleon's victory a century earlier at Waterloo is a standoff between a totalitarian Federation of European States and a group of independent northern countries called the New Hanseatic League; and BREEDING: A PARTIAL HISTORY OF THE EIGHTEENTH CENTURY (Columbia University Press).
I teach in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University.
