The British Interplanetary Society

Arthur C. Clarke has died at the age of ninety. Hmmm, rather good obituary, gives the flavor of a lost world--I grew up reading that guy's stuff, I remember "The Nine Billion Names of God" making a very strong impression on me as a child!

  1. The only Clarke I ever read was Rendezvous with Rama, and its sequels, but the first one was one of my favorite books in high school.

  2. You, me, Neil Gaiman, and many more. (We all have independently put up the same link on our blogs for the same reason.)

  3. I enjoyed that story, too.
The British Interplanetary Society - I get off the train at Vauxhaull station near there every day. When I look out of the window and see its facade, I know it is time to put my book/paper into my bag and head for the doors!
