The books I want to bring to Cayman

may be too heavy to carry in one trip, especially since I will also be traveling with a bicycle and many months' worth of clothes/gear...

    That's what shipping is for. (We didn't have to ship when we went to England on sabbatical, but we did have to ship home...)

    I would eject everything but the bike and the books. Clothing should be optional in the Caymans anyway.
