Rick Moody talks to Moby about the winsome anthropology of the drum machine.
(NB though I love the coinage equestrianizing as an analogy to anthropomorphizing only for horses, I think that really an equestrian is also a person; I am tempted to suggest instead the more opaque and misleading but equally appealing hippomorphizing instead!)

Larping
Fascinating piece on how to turn recovery from a traumatic brain injury into a multi-player game (hat tip: Richard Nash, who sent me to Jane McGonigal and Kevin Slavin's sites when I asked for thoughts on role-playing games).
Some other good links (thanks due, too, to Brent and Ed): Eirik Fatland's crash course in Knutepunkt and Nordic live role-playing; John Kim reviews the Hamlet larp; "credibility props" (here's the Infiltration site, but I must get a copy of Access All Areas!).
Working title and new label: The Bacchae on Morningside Heights....
