My brother J. is in love with Texas. He and his family spent the summer down there, partly in Marfa, and I have pestered him for two photographs that give a glimpse into its absolute loveliness (the first one was taken on the porch where they were staying, don't you love it?!?):

I have just had that sensation known as HORRIPILATION...YIKES!!!

ReplyDeleteHorripilation and fascination. Just think--it must change the way you relate to everything to have these scenes be part of your daily life. Scenes from my everyday subway ride include rats tails and squashed roaches. They're part of natural history as well--which holds its own fascination, have you read *Rats: Observations on the History of...*--but a grimmer one in my opinion. Thanks for sharing.
