Swim lit

I've got to get this one!

  1. Hi Jenny, if you're looking for good swim lit you simply MUST read "Alex" by New Zealand author Tessa Duder. It's an excellent YA novel about a teenager, Alex Archer, who trains for selection for the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome. I read it as a teenager and still remember it fondly. It's excellent, as were the sequels that followed.

It's possibly out of print now, as it was originally published in the early 1990s, but you can find lots of good-condition copies at AbeBooks. I believe the US edition was titled "In Lane Three, Alex Archer." The UK edition was simply "Alex." Highly recommended.

    Best wishes

P.S. I simply adored The Explosionist. When can we expect The Snow Queen?
