Why did I not

realize this sooner?!? Helen DeWitt has a blog! Helen DeWitt is a genius, she wrote a novel called The Last Samurai that is basically just one of the best things ever and also rather describes my own interior life at times, it is a must-read, it is hilarious and completely delightful. The blog looks good too... (Thanks to Lowebrow for the link.)

  3. Your novel's plot sounds unique and intriguing. I will certainly keep my eye out for it.

Is it aimed at teens, adults or both?

  4. Well, I didn't write it for teenagers, I wrote it as regular old novel-writing goes, but the main character is fifteen and it was definitely the young-adult editors who were excited about it (it went to some literary ones also). Since I love young-adult fiction it seemed a natural fit, and it's perhaps currently the case that the young-adult publishers are rather better at getting books into the hands of interested adults than the other way round...
