As docile as lambs

For some reason literary news has been very slow this week, but there's a good piece in the Times about jumping sturgeon. The slideshow is particularly satisfactory.

    Wonderful article, excellent photos.

    But I did really have to give my head a shake when I read this:

    Some irate boaters have called the wildlife commission and railed against sturgeon, Ms. Parker said, even asking the state to “kill all of them so people can enjoy the river.”
